Isn't that a bit... well uncalled for and out of line? I voted early (absentee ballot) because I live in Smyrna and work in Norcross. I was also only offered one hour of paid time off to vote. I sometimes get out of work at 6-6:30 making it rather impossible for me to get the polls before 7pm. I am also in a position at work, where someone has to be here at all time. Which mainly means me (meaning I'd have to be here by the doors opening at the office).

As of right now, my coworker, who is voting down the street from the office has been gone since 10:30, it's 1:39pm now. Everyone that votes early isn't panicking people that can't be bothered to vote today. I just don't see the merit.

But, I am glad you voted and it was good experience.

I said it was "panicking voters who can't be bothered with doing it today" and in no way said it was about thos ewho had logical or intellegent reasons for either early or absentee balloting ( ... )

Be that as it may, that's not exactly the impression your post gives off. Rather it gives off the impression that those who voted early are, possibly, too lazy to wait in line. Nothing is mentioned for the other type of people.

My apologies then for sounding as such in your case.
I was just ranting over the people I have been listening to all week over here. I have over a decade of experience as a Poll Official and those people always irritated me and I just went on from there.
I didn't think to censor or modify my tones. Sometimes rants just go where they will. I think we are all guilty of that from time to time.

I am pleased you voted and hope your choices won - even if it was the big picture and not here at home ;)

The neighborhood we're renting our house in is diverse both in race and sexual orientation. Some people, perhaps, can't handle this as some of the seemingly more white yuppie people are moving. We just love it and everyone here is also very friendly. It's great to see diverse communities thriving. :)

It took me about 10 minutes or so as we had to wait for people to finish up with their cards. I did try to early vote in Tucker, but Dwight and I saw that there was a 3 hour wait on Tuesday. I returned on Friday to a 10 hour line. While I was worried about the possibility of a 3 hour wait at my polling place like I saw in '92 and "00, my hope was that the early voters skimmed off the regular day voters and I was right. They told me that at 7:00 a.m. there was an hour-and-a-half wait, but it was because there were a lot of early risers who camped the polls.

Your neighborhood is much like ours in the diversity and tollerance and working together part. I am glad to hear it went smoothly in your precinct as well - especially since that is one that they were trying to recruit us to work this year (they were short staffed going into this).

Well, there's a crazy family on Drew Valley who have written rants about Marxists all over the windows of their minivan, but other than that....
