An interesting thing happened to me sitting on the bench waiting for the shuttle this morning. I was sitting on the bench deeply engrossed in my book. After about 10 minutes (a long wait for me) I look up to see if the shuttle is pulling up yet. Legend has it that on this day, Saint Ocho chased the snakes out of Mexico - straight out into the ocean.

Of course, about 10 months later Saint Patrick chased them all back, but what a glorious 10 months it was.

Also, that is why it's impossible to find good Mexican food in Ireland.

Phase two appears to have been hijacked by some rogue phase that includes getting sucked into a yelling match with a colleague in front of my minions. I have been quite ill, been trying to figure out how to manage my work life, and any time one learns that a relative dies it's rough. Any time that one learns that this relative was 'in horrible pain' and was 'begging for death' at one point - a bit more rough ( Read more... )

Rode with the BART Whisperer again this morning. I finished my latest commute book so I had the opportunity to just observe things on the ride to work.
