Duh, in my memory, we did not have so much snow and such cold weather at least for five years around the date of my birthday. The snow's been on since Christmas and did not melt. As much as I don't like cold, it is so beautiful outside: there has been no wind for three days, "everything" is white, frost-coated...A real winter, indeed.

It IS beautiful outside, especially when it is dark, everything jsut sparkles and is so mysteriously calm.

We generally get a few inches of snow in late January here (usually our only snow of the year), but I'm wondering whether we will this time. Our weather this winter has been all over the map--unseasonably warm, then bitterly cold, then warm again, etc. We'll just have to wait and see.

P.S. That cake looks very tasty... and tropical, a perfect offset to your cold weather. Have fun!

The cake was good, walnut-whipped cream-pistaccio. Now I'd need to fast for a week on dried bread and greenies again. ;)

Teh entire country has several inches of snow, we had electricity breaks all over (outside the big cities)...but yeah...it is beautiful.

Действительно красота. А у нас снега давно не было. Тот, что выпал, уже осел и потемнел, так что обычная зима в большом городе: серенькая и грязноватая.
