i like it, but somehow i'm forced to question the point that there is no such thing as evil, just an absance of God. I'm in the computer lab right now, so i dont have my bible (how horrible of me to be here on campus, a place of spirtual warfair, without my sword)... anyhow...

It seems that saying evil is an absance of God, makes it sound like God isn't everywhere, and isn't wholy in control of every thing, when in fact God IS everywhere, and IS in control of everything, but still allows Evil to happen... I wish i could explain my thoughts better...

no no you explained perfectly. i see exactly what you are saying they should reword it and say evil is the point in which God allows evil to happen....hmmm yea i'm not a very good "re-word-er" but i see exactly what you are saying and i agree good point!!

yeah, i was thinking about that too (mike). b/c i've read a good argument before, where the guy argued that evil is a 'perversion' of good--he was arguing against dualism, the complete and equal balance of good and evil, etc. i was definately feeling the 'evil is the absence of good' idea, but the 'evil is a perversion of good' and gets its existence from good is also a good one. but, i don't think it can be both. good stuff though, both ideas.
