I know this is just a costume check, but when I saw this pic I couldn't help but sing "Here's to you, Good Costume Bad Shoe Guy!"

Not to mention the jeans :). Shoes are always a challenge for historic costume. I try at least for something plain and not glaringly modern, to aware that they often need to maneuver around in the dark on uneven surfaces.
