Actually, it's never really that bad. What it is, is a strange little conceptual thingy I find myself floating in. Not sure if I can explain.... ( Snipped for brevity on Friends' Pages. )
Aren't in-laws great? (Although technically she's not really an in-law... just seems that way already, eh?)
I usually get along much better with Ryan's mom than my own... except when it comes to the whole 'kids' subject. I think I've almost gotten through to her that she's going to have to depend on her other two sons.
*sigh*
Love & snuggles... hope you're able to find a schedule that works for everyone.
Maybe you could just tell her they're welcome to come for dinner - so long as they bring the dinner.
::chuckle:: It happens from time to time. (I think I'm slightly less mellow than I was back in High School.)
I call them my in-theories: not in-laws yet, but past in-hypotheses. And they're fine, really. I know that there's always work to do with that whole "blending of families" thing, and that's fine. What isn't fine is for Lou to call all the shots. I'll be accommodating, cooperative, and compromising ... to a point.
It turns out Brian was able to persuade her the other night to come over on Thursday just to visit, sans dinner. (I like your suggestion though! ::wide evil grin::)
