Bike Season 2012

Wow, where have I been? What have I been doing? Right here and nothing much. I'm seriously considering downgrading my LJ to a free account, because I've found better things to spend my money on.

First was my newest tattoo, which I had been putting off until finding this image online and falling in "velo" instantly:

Can't you just try a cycling class? Or is that not enough cycling in one day?

I've actually tried to look for any kind of indoor options at all. The problem is the one or two I found are only downtown for hip metro Denverites, are charged per session (and not cheaply), and of course there's the whole leaving the house thing. Believe me, if the gym across the street had anything but boring regular stationary bikes I'd reconsider a membership -- which is also $250 a year, also not cheap. My last resort option is moving to Texas or California, somewhere warm year round that isn't so humid you want to just dissolve in an armchair.

That's a really great tattoo. So much better than just "I <3 bicycles". If I ever really get into pet voles, then I know what tattoo to get. I actually had a decent idea for a tattoo that combined a whole bunch of things I like, but it was contingent on me becoming a railroad conductor.

Your way of rationalizing making big expenditures is a lot more thorough and makes more sense than the way my sisters do it. There always excuse buying something expensive by saying they won't buy something else they wanted. They just fabricate some imaginary purchase they won't make to justify buying what they really want. When I point it out to them, their eyes just kind of blink dumbly at me, but their smile says that they know exactly what they're doing.

Thanks very much! I was tossing around a vague generic idea of a gear wheel, but wasn't really excited about any designs. Then I stumbled on the velo and the proverbial lightbulb went off above my head. I really wanted to incorporate the year 2010 (when I started biking) but didn't want to clutter it up. So my idea is to do it in the same font on the other arm. That will have to wait for a) more money or b) me to forget what a pain in the butt the healing process is.

Haha, your sisters sound worse than Tery, who since she stopped drinking has rationalized all kinds of purchases in the name of "at least I'm not buying booze." Which is okay with me as long as she's paying her bills on time.
