My girlfriend loves Mr. Lynch too. What first attracted you to his work, and what was the first of his films you saw (excluding Twin Peaks)?

The first of his films I saw other than Twin Peaks was Eraserhead. I was 15? and had been totally obsessed with Twin Peaks so I decided to watch his other stuff. So, I rented Eraserhead with my friends when they slept over one weekend. They were BOARD OUT OF THEIR MINDS! And I think they even made me turn it off "Mary... this is in BLACK AND WHITE!!!" But I watched it and I was all kinda creeped out and I didn't understand it and... I LIKED that I couldn't understand it and that it creeped me out! After that I started renting his other movies. Sometimes I think that's what "happened" to me, LOL. Should a young girl watch Blue Velvet???? I dunno.....? But I always liked it cause it was sorta... dirty, LOL.

meaning, financially. owning a house (i think you do?), etc. i'm 27 and a house seems so far away. :(

hrmmm.... I dunno? I guess it just HAPPENED! I know that I have always tried to have goals and accomplish them. Those goals NEVER were getting married though. I kinda figured that wouldn't happen til i was in my late 30s or 40s, to be honest. But since my dad died when I was 13, I decided I needed to get out of my hometown. So I saved the money I got from his social security and I used it to put me through college. In college I met my husband. I had no "goal" beyond graduating college, because that seemed really hard to do. But I did. And then I just took it logically after that. I picked something I liked doing in college (editing) and tried to get a job doing that. I did. Then the boyfriend and I were dating like 4 years. We were gonna move in together. So we decided to just get married cause then we'd get cool wedding gifts for our apartment, LOL. We rented a house for a year after we were married. He got a job at my work in the mailroom after he graduated. We realized that the amount we were paying in rent we could be using for a ( ... )

If I am correct, it was when you guys came to my house to be interviewed for Tainted Playground ~ which I don't think we ever did anything for..... cause we got lazy. I think i still have the footage somewheres though....

Anyhow. You came over and we had just moved into my house and the basement was a big wreck and I was totally embarrassed, but you guys were totally nice. And we all totally got along, and we hung out after that. And then we didn't :o( And I dunno. That's sad cause I had every single time.

That was the first time wasn't it???
