I was reading a collection of Victorian epitaphs, and came across one for a 27-year old girl that threw me a curve, and got me thinking. So, I prefaced mine with the lines, and hope that it's appropriate

Thanks for posting this. I don't know if you get the responses her friends post here but you may come back to read comments later.

I think of her often and can't bring myself to remove her from my friends list. Gretchen and I often joked about being twins, we had many similar interests and even similar haircuts. We painted the same thing on our leather jackets! When I see her name on my friend list, I often wonder how you are doing. I think you are the coolest mom for coming here to share this with her friends (and for the idea of bronzing her boot!)

This was e-mailed to me by Gretchen's Mom and when I saw her yesterday...I asked if I could post it...

She thought it would be a good idea....

Also...we talked about having some kind of memorial get together around the one year mark...here in Portland...

It'll be about 2 months away...but something may be in the works...

I should have guessed that it was you. Thanks for posting it. I hope that you pass along to her well wishes from her friends on LJ.

I don't know if I'd be able to make it to her memorial (living in San Diego) but please keep me posted on the details just in case. You never know. I can't believe it's almost a year already!

I know Julie would like it if you came...and I a going to be inviting people from all over to come...maybe some sort of Cali posse...can make the trip together....
