So I unfriended someone the other day that I have known since 1996. I don't know if once you remove someone from your friend's list they can still see your posts or not. Anyhoo, in case he can read it and in case he is curious why, here is my explanation ( Read more... )

the only difference of opinion I have is: everyone should do something in their lives, somewhere, sometime, to make a positive influence on a child. You don't have to raise one. You don't have to tutor or teach or take em fishing every weekend but dammit do SOMETHING to have a positive impact on the next generation. If you can't do that, then what in holy fuck are you doing here? Off yourself. I have "child-free" friends and they don't hate kids, don't run screaming at the sight of them and in FACT do what they can to make a positive impact on the kids that are around them. One such couple is the godparents of my kids. How hard is it to go and volunteer at a headstart program to read a freakin book to some kids. Go to career day and talk about the upside of a good education. Donate some of your own books to a local school. etc

I hate the child-haters. They are some seriously messed up people.

That's true. Even if you don't raise them, having an impact is important. Otherwise, what's the point.

I'm not offended by "breeders". The Queen uses it in jest, as do I.

Just because someone else is standing in judgement - doesn't mean you have to TAKE that judgement, grrrl. Blow it off.

Cuz you're a good breeder, no matter what they say about you :oD

I actually don't mind the "breeder". It kinda makes me giggle. It's mostly the tone not the word.
And dood. YOU are a breeder! Didn't you have litters each time?? ;-)
