weirdness

Gadzooks. SIL is in town, and aside from driving me batshit (which she always does) she is following form and spending all her time with my girls. You would think because of this, I would be totally giddy. Part of me is. The other part is being driven batshit. Anyway. I usually take her visits and do allll those things that you just can't get done ( Read more... )

yes....you can't constantly be in overdrive....sometimes you need to just unlax...and unwind....accept it for what it is...giving your brain (and everything else) a rest.....too soon you'll be back into hyperdrive again.....

yeah, its called "resting" and my husband introduced me to the concept. Apparently its very popular with "normal" folk who do it all the time. From what I can divine, there's a thin line between "resting" and "lazy" but the line is clear; "resting" is done occasionally whereas "lazy" is done whenever possible.
If you're still doing stuff when you have to, you're not being lazy. If you are choosing to NOT do stuff when the opportunity presents itself, that's "resting"

And I hear its a good thing. IN fact I just did it a little while ago because the husband came home from a weekend (four days) trip and I suddenly wanted nothing more than to lie down and NOT MOVE. Once I got up, I realized I've been on the move for the past week non-stop. This "resting" thing is pretty cool. You should do it more often. Helps the brain too.
