I think I’m starting to get the hang of this travelling thing.  Those damn germans were gone this morning, so I slept in and caught up on some sleep.  I was in bed until almost noon, lazy slob that I am.  Then I got up and went and rented a bicycle and went biking along the canals and felt. . .  content.  Sort of like the first day someone wakes up ( Read more... )

You finally lose the Germans and decide to go to Berlin? I love your randomness. But since you'll be there, be sure to visit the Reichstag - the former headquarters of the Third Reich (its also the Parliament Building of the German Empire). It's still a government building, and you can get free tours, IIRC.

I hadn't heard the story about the church. It sounds right though!! Talked to Joe & Sylvia Plut (back alley old house) and he says Berlin is a great city - lots to do, some no go areas - just ask. Enjoy! Also Gabriele is HERE in Whistler. Will let u no when she's back in Germany after we meet. Think I finally have a # for Mandy, sorry. Hugs. Mom

Thanks mom! And don't worry about the Mandy thing, if I have time at the end of my first two months I'll head back to Holland, maybe stay in Utreckt(sp?) or just a different area of Amsterdam for a night so I can give it to her.
