First Pho experience not earth moving

We ended up at a Pho place in Renton (near erikthenude's house). I was not thrilled with my first Pho. Was told that that place was "okay", so I am willing to give Pho another try. Next time I'll check out one of the places recommended to me by holyoutlaw and joikm. Also, I will try a chicken one next time. I discovered I do like squid though, and don't seem to be allergic.

Where did you go? There is only one Pho place in Renton that I like - Thai #1, just off of 2nd street, near the safeway.

Try the Tofu Pho - it's actually quite good (if they have good Tofu).

That's the one we went to.

I was going to try the chicken one, because I think that's the one I would've preferred, but I wanted to do it the way that's traditional so I went with the beef. I didn't like the meat part of it at all. Yuck. Kim said it was basically boiled, and that explained everything.

I do like tofu, but I'll try the chicken next. If I don't like the chicken, then I'm giving up on Pho completely. If I do like it, then I will try the tofu too.

That's too bad. Did you get the one with tripe and tendon? I'm not a big fan of that one - I like the flank steak and brisket, but then I love beef.

You were about 10 blocks from our house there. :)

I got one with brisket and some other beef, but not tripe or tendon. I also had a bite of my friend's sausage, but didn't like it either.

I was down in Renton again yesterday, at Naan 'N' Curry (very yummy by the way, I totally recommend!). I remember Nicki saying she liked downtown Renton, so I asked if that's where we were. Indeed we were, so I felt very close to you guys! If you like Indian, we'll have to go sometime!
