My dishwasher died last night, and so I'm now looking for someone in the Renton area to take a look and/or get a quote. I'm not sure if it's worth fixing or getting a new one. If anyone has had any good experiences, let me know!

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I never knew anyone who wanted to be a firefighter or a cop (which seem to be the prototypical responses). I did know a few people that wanted to be an astronaut, fighter pilot and/or peace activist (sometimes the same person!?!). I just watched a great talk by Malcolm Gladwell. While it's about the food industry, there are a ton of ideas here for other industries as well - in fact, just about every one that I can think. Plus, it was great to actually see Malcolm talk - very interesting guy.

I am getting married in the not too distant future, and, much to my surprise, one of the harder things to find is a decent guestbook. There must be shops in Seattle and the burbs, but where? Anyone out there in LJ land have any ideas?

I got the most generic looking birdhouse from fred mayer the other day, simply because I've run out of time to make my own. Given my schedule, I think I need to start planning and building in the fall.

I am back from wonderful Las Vegas, land of sin and excess.

The rest of the world might be going into a meltdown, but LV is still going strong. Condo towers are sprouting like desert flowers, and most casinos are full.
