Posting this while I can, now that things have somewhat calmed down.

Since my last post, Mom has been widowed and, hours later, sent from the hospital to rehab.

OMG that's just awful about your mother's husband though I assume it wasn't a shock. She has my sincere condolences.

On the other hand, I'm thrilled she'd doing so well in rehab and that she's kicking you out of town on vacation. It definitely sounds like you need it.

I'm sitting here trying to figure out how I missed your birthday. *ponders* Belated birthday greetings and may it be a really fantastic year for you.

I think Alyss is right, it does sound like you might need some naps and the car is as good a place as any. Enjoy your time away with friends and stay safe.

No, it absolutely wasn't a shock. Mom was exhausted because of three straight months of hospital and then rehab/nursing home. And her three stepdaughters have been phenomenal about helping and then keeping her in the loop when she was hospitalized.

I absolutely need the vacation. I'm holding off a fibro flare-up by the skin of my teeth. Nah, my b'day was the 4th; I wasn't posting much, so no worries.

So very sorry about all of this. Sending lots of good thoughts, sympathy, and hopes for a much more peaceful time up ahead.
