CDA Convention today. I took the liberty to take a day off of work to go to the CDA Convention here in DC. It was pretty fun. It was actually the second day because there were a few events yesterday, but seeing as I how I had work and stuff to do, I really couldn't go. This morning, I had a constituent breakfast with Senator Dianne Feinstein. It was pretty good. The food was okay...pretty much just bagels and donuts. And they had coffee...always a plus. Wow...today was crazy. This morning, I was up extra early to wait in line so that one of the staffers could get into a hearing. It was crazy...there were people already there and it was 6:50am (ET) when I got there. I was practically dead the rest of the day after that. Today was quite the interesting day. I got to meet our school's new chancellor. It was really fun to be able to talk to him in such a small group. It was really laid back and fun to hear what everyone had to say. I (naturally) put in my good words for all of the things I do on campus (that means you band and YDUCI). More on today: So me and my roommates went over to the Mall to camp out for the fireworks tonight. When we got there, we were able to catch the last of the parade. Seeing all of the marching bands took me way back...making me feel all old and stuff...and they had a huge inflatable Woody Wood Pecker. Oh yeah...today was also a big day at the capitol for me. Attended a couple of meetings then swung by Boxer and Feinstein's office in the Senate buildings. Speaking of which, those buildings are really nice and classy. Makes me wish I were working there...
