I didn't mean that as a SomethingAwful reference, actually (I've heard there's some injoke about that). I just thought I'd heard that the Daleks couldn't handle stairs...or did the SomethingAwful injoke actually come from the Dalek stair thing?

I'm the one who combined the ideas for humorous intent.

The SA thing comes from a now mostly obsolete "secret handshake" regarding robots. I don't think there are Daleks behind any of it. And what Daleks lack in their stair *climbing* ability they more than make up for nowadays with their stair *hovering* ability.
