In the event that you can't find a qualified veterinarian, I can take a look. I don't have experience treating animals, but I used to keep a dog myself.

I'd be happy to have something to do. I'm still recovering from the shock of being here and I don't have any professional obligations--I've considered the hospital, but my medical education may be a bit out of date here.
