I've noticed this happening a little at home since we use powdered sugar-free grape Koolaid. To be honest I don't notice the powder overspray too much or all that often.
Weird that you guys seem to get it everywhere. I have never seen it get on the floor or anywhere other than just the sink itself.
I hear ya. This honestly wouldn't be quite so much trouble if we didn't have so much stuff crammed onto our counters. But we have so little space in our kitchen that there's no-where else for things to go.
1) Not really, no. Air movement isn't noticeable. But I don't have a very big kitchen, so even if the spread isn't wide, it's still very noticeable. Even if we do this in the sink, it gets on all the counters, drying rack, and floor around the sink.
2) Tried that a couple times. But carrying a pitcher of water across the white living room carpet and the back across it without spilling red drink all over it (not to mention dealing with the blinds and security locks on the door) ended up being more troublesome and risky that we were comfortable with.
I kinda figured as much since your place is basically like the one we game in.
Hadn't thought about the hazards of carrying across the carpet. :P
Perhaps us using a gallon container and a name brand is the reason we don't see to much powder going everywhere. I'm still amazed that you see it on the floor. Tell the zebra to quit being so messy or his stripes will turn pink. ;)
Silly but worth a try maybe?skyJuly 2 2010, 20:16:24 UTC
As you're pouring, use a spray bottle set to mist to spray at the area above the pitcher so that the dust ends up trapped in the mist which falls into the pitcher?

Maybe try a different brand as a test?

1. Is there much air movement in your kitchen? An AC vent or fan nearby might be a culprit.
2. Take it outside. A pain in the tail but you could mix on the deck. Of course as windy as it is here that might be even worse.
