I just got a call from my girlscout leader, asking me what my plans are for my Gold Award.  My plans are that I'm not doing it, but I don't know how I'm going to tell her that.  I feel bad; I know she's looked into a lot of stuff for me, but it's just not in the cards right now.  There's too much going on.  True, I could possibly make it work if I ( Read more... )

Aww. I feel so bad you have to do that. It'd be really cool if you did it, but hey, you have other things that you need to deal with right now and if the gold award isn't one of them, then it isn't. It's okay to tell them that.

I feel so bad! It's like, Mrs. Carlson does all this work, and then I don't even do it. It's not like I don't want to do it...well, I don't exactly, it just sucks as being the only one that's DOING it, and school starts in 2 weeks. I just don't know how to tell her, because I feel horrible.

Why don't you try this then, explain to her your schedule and how you think it would be hard to fit it in and see if maybe you and her could come up with something to make it work. It might not be a months work of planning like you might expect it to be, but a couple of months of a little planning a day and them the project.

how about this.... rise to the challenge. might as well learn this now... life doesn't ever get any easier than it is right now. trust me. do what you get the opportunity for. while it might seem dumb and pointless it'll teach you how to do what you've been working towards. don't ya kinda owe it to yourself to see it through?
