Isn't there a rivalry between those two? Soon there will be raging armies of Avril Lavigne look-a-likes and Hilary Duff chic girls. It's the whole stereotypical "different" versus "normal" and expressing your so-called individuality.

There is a rivalry. Lavigne said something abour preps and mentioned Duff...so Duff got pissed off and now they're fueding. Personally, I don't mind Duff as much as Lavigne. Duff knows what she is and she doesn't act out to try to be something else. She's a prep and she struts her preppy shit with pride. She's got a clothing line at target, she could very well be the next Martha Stewart. With Lavigne...even if she was a punk, she doesn't sing it so she should keep her shit off the stage. Or at the very least, she could promote bands that ARE punk so the teeny boppers would know what they're trying to be before doing it.
