In Hana, where I was just staying for two days, there was one hotel, two restaurants, a baseball diamond, great hiking on the north side of haleakala, three or four horse farms and a bunch of fruit stands.  Nothing else within three hours of driving.  No internet access, no cell phone signal, only a few pay phones at the gas station.  I got there

sadly I only have three more days...I think i'll be leaving just when you're arriving :-\
