So I was supposed to fly home on the 23rd, get back to detroit at 4 PM on christmas eve.  We boarded the aircraft, sat for 3 hours, and were told the flight was canceled for mechanical difficulties.  As we were walking off the plane, the last flight out of hawaii roared down the runway.  So, my family and I were stuck in the airport untill 3 PM ( Read more... )

In Hana, where I was just staying for two days, there was one hotel, two restaurants, a baseball diamond, great hiking on the north side of haleakala, three or four horse farms and a bunch of fruit stands.  Nothing else within three hours of driving.  No internet access, no cell phone signal, only a few pay phones at the gas station.  I got there ( Read more... )

So my parents are gone for a few days, my mom to pick up my sister from North Carolina and cart her and all her stuff back here for break, and my dad for work. Did anyone notice how fast the network was yesterday? Did you wonder why?

Well, there was a large update that came out for World of Warcraft yesterday, so the head of IT bumped up the bandwidth for the entire college network for the day just so our resident WoW players could download the update faster.

My sister and I were pulling out of the mall this afternoon after going birthday shoping for a few people, and there was a huge blue astro van or something in front of us. When we saw the liscence plate we just about died -- CANDYMN!

Oh yeah, and I hope everyone ate as much turkey as I did yesterday, it was amazing!
