Alright. Now that half our number is off to the Seraphim, who is left? Aerith...? We seem to have a new visitor...

Or maybe that was the plan all along. Divide and conquer, as they say. Right, magisters?

I'm still here.

Is there anything...I mean, er...Your orders Sir?

As far as I know there hasn't been any fresh sightings of that..thing and I don't have the technological resources on hand to get even a rough grid position let alone precise coordinates. I've made contact with some people capable of fighting monsters and going on patrols but I haven't seen anything resembling an official military or police presence.

Um...should I maybe scout for higher ground so we can set up a watch point? I tried exploring the city but there might be some kind of radiation leak or something because it was making me sick.

In the absence of technology, the old fashioned methods will just have to do. Unfortunately...

No. Stay with the President. There are too many threats to deal with at the moment. There is no official or unofficial form of government or law enforcement here - we are, essentially, a scattered group of people plucked from different worlds.

There are some enemies from our world who have followed us here. Look out for the one called Kadaj. He resembles Sephiroth - with shorter hair, carries a double bladed sword, would be dressed in a black bodysuit. He may be directly targetting the President. If you see him, do not engage. Call for back up.

Where is this radiation leak? What did it do?

Yes Sir.

Reno warned me about Kadaj. I have no idea who this guy is but I don't like the sounds of him.

Oh, and I've actually seen Sephiroth here too, or at least someone that looks and sounds just like him. He didn't seem that aggressive though.

Near the City Gate. I tried to go through but I started feeling the same kind of dizziness and sickness I had when I first got here. I had to withdraw before I passed out. I think it was radiation. I don't know what else it could be.

We believe that he might be some remnant of Sephiroth. Who is also present. He appears to be sane at the moment, but he did summon Meteor on this place a scant handful of months back. It's not safe to trust appearances, at this point.

I should have warned you. There are certain zones in this city that seem to cause illness and, on occasions, lapses in judgment and insanity. If you start feeling unwell, withdraw immediately to safe ground. The fountain and the south of the city are the least affected. The library is unsafe, and the areas outside are definitely high threat areas.

Great.

I see. My apologies if this is somewhat of an odd question but - what was happening in Gaia before you arrived here?

Hm.

[There's a sort of a sharp intake of breath from Tseng's end. That's one piece of nastiness that he'll never forget. When he speaks again, there's a lot more concern in his voice.]

Did it attack Midgar? Were you injured?

Such an unkind tongue doesn't become you, Tseng.

Is that so? My apologies, then. It does seem that the situation has been resolved, so it appears that we owe you our thanks.

Divide and conquer? You may have a point. I have a bad feeling about whatever it was I saw earlier...

My paranoia was unwarranted, however. It seems that our friends are back.

Still, I can't blame you for being on guard.I'm glad.

Speaking of that thing we saw earlier... is it gone? I seem to have lost track of it.
