1) It's interesting to note that the splicers don't get regenerated. The fact that you're specially created may give you the ability to use them. But who else?...

2)Yup. No idea what it looks like to kill them, and don't want to find out. My conscience did not evolve to be able to tell the difference between reality and ridiculously realistic looking games, and so will punish me with nausea and self-loathing if I try as if I'd done it for real.

1) The Vita-chambers are prototypes, and are linked specifically to Ryan's genetic code (at his command). You, being his (genetically modified) offspring are genetically close enough to trigger them when you die. This is also why when you do respawn you don't have 100% health (you're not 100% Ryan DNA)

Being so close to Ryan's DNA is what also gives you access to the Bathyspheres.

So, in effect you're the perfect tool to kill Ryan, able to bypass any alarm or lock keyed to his personal DNA.

Oh yes, I know what it looks like to kill them, because I looked on youtube. It's not at all graphic, (who would dare show graphic violence to a young girl). It's interesting in that you get to see the sea slug inside them..

you can look here, safe in the knowledge you're actually harming one of the poor creatures!
