[He watches the cat for a moment before shifting his gaze. If he honestly contemplates it, the question only reenforces the idea that he could be content, here. It's a thought he never is sure what to think of.

[Hearing his response makes her hold on the cat a little firmer. Not all of her important people are in Ukiyo (like her mother or Ohgi, for instance), but she'd rather not have them obtain the same fate as hers.]

Mm, it ended months ago in my world. The outcome was very bittersweet on both sides with their own casualties, but peace was eventually achieved. I just need to maintain it and focus on preventing disease and starvation at the same time.
