Us LIEberals believe that in order to create a more equal society, you must give people bootstraps to lift themselves up by. The problem, though, is not with race but economic status (it just happens that most of the working class is made up of blacks). People made this longterm mistake back in the sixties because race was a main factor in economic inequality. I, personally, belive that racial quotas were a dumb idea, and we need to reform institutions so they rely upon socioeconomic quotas instead.
And as for Social Security, its intent was to secure jobs for people by allowing older people to retire. This helped us out of the depression, remember? This is securing jobs, even today. Unless you want all the old people working and taking up what little employment we have now, you'd better get used to Social Security.

I am more than ready to forgive Bush because he, to be as bad or equal to Clinton, needs another 4 years. I put up with 8 of Cltinon but the liberals are all insisting that he not have another 4.
