No to www!

Man, guys. Do any of you type out "www." in front of a URL when you go to the site? 'Cos you really shouldn't! It's a waste of time and makes the URL longer than necessary. I just went through my sites adding a mod_rewrite or whatever so that anybody who tries going to www.slimemansion.com or whatever has the URL secretly switch on them to ( Read more... )

Well, it also makes the address look more balanced :D() because you have the www. soandso .com! I uh. I guess I type one or the other depending on how aesthetically sensitive I'm feeling that day, ha ha.

Only if I'm going to a site that requires it. Like carrotology. If you type "carrotology.com" you get to some crazymad error dealie. but besides that, I barely even type in the ".com" if I can.

Honestly, why would you not have the "www" prefix if you weren't on the world wide web?

Are you really going to try and use telnet://www.sdf-1.com or ftp://www.sdf-1.com?

That's why there are subdomains such as mail.sdf-1.com, or ftp.sdf-1.com

Makes sense to me.

It takes me less than a second to type www. so I find no problem with it. T_T;
