My Grandparents' House

After an exhausting week in New York City (in which I lost my wallet and got the flu) I took the Amtrack train to Cumberland, MD, where my grandparents have lived for 55 years. Rotary phones can no longer dial long distance, I believe. My parents' house in Berkeley County still has a rotary phone that will dial the local 7-digit numbers (no area code, lol), but there's something about the way non-7 digit calls are routed these days that doesn't allow them to be carried through the trunk system.

Or you might have just dialed the thing wrong. Those phones are tricky.
