I didn't know how bad this was until I got a call from a friend in California. At that point I started calling a couple people down that way to preemptively tell people we're okay.

Urge your local friends to check in. Many of us are stupid and not good at mpls geography. :)

(This is like the people who think that anywhere in Kansas is close to anywhere else and want to make sure I'm okay when there's been a tornado 300 miles away. :)
