This is going to sound stupid.... but does anyone know if there's such a thing as USB RAM?

I hate my work laptop, and want more RAM. But they won't install more RAM. So I want to buy a lil stick thing to plug into a USB port that will increase the RAM.

I have NO idea if such a thing even exists... is this wishful thinking?
