Once again, it is Thanksgiving. A day upon which we Americans are called to reflect upon all things that we are thankful for, and to celebrate them. Gathering around the table with family, we share the joys and sorrows of the year that has passed. We quietly mourn the lives of loved ones lost, as we celebrate with a gracious feast. On Connor turning One - a retrospective musing of the past year and a half.
My son turned One year old on this past Monday. It feels as if he's always been here, though. As if he were always a part of my being and my soul - I'd feel incomplete without him. I suppose one could argue that since half of his DNA is mine, he always has been part of me. Motherhood is a curious thing. I once read a quote that likened it to living ( Read more... ) -
I think I'm actually becoming okay with this.
I think I'm actually becoming okay with being a single mom. Yeah, it is hard... and fairly lonely. Connor's a sweet boy, and loves to cuddle! Sadly, I'm lacking very much in the grown up cuddling department (Takers, anyone?) The only problems I have with the whole situation is really a minor internal conflict about how involved Connor's other ( Read more... ) -

Colds, Work and other Miscellaneous thoughts
I've got a cold. Again. Connor had Bronchiolitis a month ago, and ended up at the hospital because he wasn't breathing very well. After having to do nebulizer treatments (never fun on a 6 month old) and him taking steriods, he got better. I got it as well and was sick as a dog for weeks. I got better, and then had a severe double ear infection that ( Read more... ) -
A long time gone... a lot of changes
It has been months since I've posted... I admit, and I apologize to anyone who actually reads my journal - I forgot about it. My life has been quite hectic, and thus LJ got booted to the bottom of my list of priorities. However, I plan on fixing that!
My sweet son, Connor is nearly 7 months old! He is growing so fast... As of 2/19/08 he is 20lbs 11 ( Read more... ) -
The first two months
I apologize heartily to those who've wondered what I've been up to. Connor was born on August 4th at 2:51pm. After being in labor for more than 24 hours, he was delivered by a c-section. Having a c-section wasn't too bad, but I am thankful that I heal quickly. At birth, Connor weighed 8 lbs and was 21 inches in length. He is now 12 lbs 8 1/2 oz and ( Read more... ) -
Baby Update!
I'm being induced next Friday, August 3rd, 2007. They're inducing me at 6am so hopefully I'll have the baby by the end of the day. I am dying to meet Connor, but now I'm nervous. But I'm also excited. Its only 7 days... Then I get to hold my son.
