Okay, so I decided after talking to some impartial folks, that it'd be best for me to probably rent instead of buying a place, and I contacted my friend's apt. complex. They allow not only ALL SIZES of dogs, but multiple dogs, requiring only temprament tests (apparently drooling on the tester, and rolling over for bellyrubs = fine!) and that's it. ( Read more... )

Mom got a call a couple of days ago from the nursing home saying gramps fell. Nothing big, landed on his butt, he didn't want to wait for them to get out of bed, or to ask for help, or to use the walker. They were there right away, and got him up, he was fine, but annoyed. Okay, so like right before christmas, the shelter I volunteer at had "volunteer appreciation night" dinner. So, everyone who's ever gone to college knows the bane of freshman Chemistry (or CH 101 at MTU!) I recall hear about this, and getting it in an e-mail when I was a student at MTU, and it was funny as hell, but I never saw it again.
