I'm actually in shock that there are 2 states in this country that I have been in that you haven't - Illinois (what, no Chicago for you???) and Hawaii.
I decided to checkoff only the states that I've actually done sightseeing or have overnighted in. I have actually driven through Illinois and Indiana, but have never stopped, sightseen, or overnighted in those two states.
Surprisingly, on my trip I just wasn't much interested in stopping in Chicago. I remember looking it up in my guidebooks and thinking, "why bother?" In fact, the vast majority of the midwest is blank due to that sentiment. Though I've heard that Minnesota is spectacularly beautiful, as is Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
Captain and I are planning on spending a good bit of time in Hawaii once we get our sailboat. I couldn't drive to Hawaii.
