A few of us have just formed a Stitch n Bitch (along the lines of the Stitch n Bitch books). We're meeting at the Whistling Kettle in Ballston Spa tomorrow (Sunday) at 2:00. Even if you don't knit, just put Michael in the sling and come on over to join us. We're also meeting Thursday the 3rd at 5:00 at Baileys downtown.
I could also hook you up with the local Democracy for America people, but most of the people are a lot older and the times the pick for events aren't always good for a mom.
Nope, I don't knit. I used to crochet, ages ago when I was in high school. Funny, though, I was just pondering yesterday that I should take it up again. We could certainly use a couple of afghans for our chilly living room. Electric heat + subzero temps + big old sliding glass door to deck = a LR that's constantly around 55-60, no matter how high the heat is set. Captain and I are always dragging blankets in from the bedroom
( ... )
What kind of sling do you have? My Aidan was in his sling until he was nearly 3. My nojo goes to 30 lbs and my Maya Wrap goes to 35 lbs. I could bring them some time if you want to try them before you buy.
I'm usually at Uncommon Grounds knitting at the bar on Thursdays and Fridays at 9:00ish (right after I drop Aidan at school) until about 10:30ish, depending on what errands I may need to run that day.
If it's logic you want, then listening to Air America Radio.com online should help you - or reading The Nation. There are also excellent liberal blogs online. The Bushies are wrong on every level, especially when you start looking at logic. My husband is a republican, a former Navy officer and quite conservative (fiscally, not socially). He gets really annoyed when anyone calls Bush a republican - he can't stand Bush.
