After I had my panic moment my friend Jakub and I went to Akihabara and had a good time. I calmed down. Even resolved to stay.

When I returned my mom had sent me an email insisting that I return to America. Can't really argue with the people who pay all your bills. I left 2 days after that.

I have been handling this pretty well up until now, but I will be the first to admit that I am NOT anymore.

All of my neighbors are leaving the country or at least going to Kansai (Kyoto, Osaka, etc).

We have planned power outages twice a day until the end of April. Starting today.

For those of you who haven't heard, yes, I'm ok. Our apartment building shook pretty bad, but thanks to some quick thinking before getting out of my room nothing is damaged. We still have all our utilities, however cell phone service isn't very reliable.

Yesterday was one of the longest days of my life. Literally. I woke up at 7am (Tokyo time), took a nonstop flight to Houston (~11 hours) and managed to stay up until 8:45pm or so. First real all nighter ever!
