So we finally saw Old Country for No Men ... er...No Country for Old Men....in any case -- blah.  The first half of it was good, but then it just sort of petered out.  I think Tim said it correctly when he said it was like hearing old people tell a story.   My thought on it was that it had no music in it ( Read more... )

Oh, we've used 'Buccaneer's Cove' before, on your recommendation (thanks!), when we missed a show. She just would rather watch it on TV than a PC monitor.

yeah, I was going to suggest bittorrent as well.

And technically, not watching it at all < watching it on the computer imo.

BSG will be replayed at 10:00 or 11:00 Sunday night, I believe. I'm hopping over to SciFi after this to check.

We were already worrying about the same thing. We have no fancy DVR, and our VCR has a quirk where you can only tape what you are watching, and we can't do that to our babysitter! Wait...maybe *she's* into BSG!

Thanks for reminding me about that ... I bet you that is what we end up doing. I think we are all a little bit hungover today. I should have stopped at four....I mean I am functional and fine but I could be better, you know?

Exactly! It was another movie where ... nothing happened except a lot of people died and a sheriff quit his job. Maybe that was it. It was the story of why the sheriff quit.

Oh new icon! I sort of wish we had more Dexter to watch...but you know we wanted to be conservative about getting it. I have made the mistake of getting too many netflix discs of a series I wasn't too sure about and so it took forever to watch them and send them back.

I really like No Country for Old Men! That's too bad that you didn't enjoy it.

I like Dexter, too. At first I didn't like it, I kind of got skeezed out but I love the main guy.

i didn't love No Country but i haven't really loved any of the coen brothers movies since The Man Who Wasn't There, which i mainly enjoyed because of the fantastic, hilarious tony shalub [sp?] performance as a fast-talking lawyer who tries to spin quantum mechanics into a defense strategy - but, since then, the bros have kinda left me cold. i'm withholding final judgement until i watch it again, at least twice more but the only problem is, i'm not sure how long it'll be before i WANT to see it again - chigur is such an unrepentantly evil fuck that it's hard for me to really work up the will to sit through his depravations again ( ... )

Dexter has books?! Gosh that seems to me like the Nancy Drew or Hardy boys for adults. You know we saw ONE episode of it on TV and it ended up being the fourth episode in the beginning of the series so we didn't feel like it gave too much away. In fact it made sense ( ... )
