So yesterday I had a field trip that actually stayed in Florence. We went into Palazzo Vecchio and saw a bunch of really neat art (shocker). We also visited some churches and a museum on hard stone art. I'm making new friends, and last night I had the time of my life. I went over to their apartment for dinner, and it was so yummy! Today I went with my drawing class to the Boboli Gardens to sketch landscapes. I sat in a patch of clovers and found a bunch of four and five leaf clovers while I was sketching. I picked them (even though I'm not sure if you're technically allowed). They didn't seem to help me with my drawing, or keeping the bugs away from me. I got bit up so bad ( Read more... ) -

Yesterday I spent the majority of the day walking around Florence. I slept in later than I had thought I would, and when I woke up at 1:30 I decided I wanted to get out and do something, not just sit in my apartment all day. Today I went to Pisa and Lucca with the Early Renaissance art history class. Pisa was our first stop. When we arrived there were few other people, but within a few hours time the main piazza was filled with tourists. I took plenty of touristy pictures "holding up" the Leaning Tower. So it's only 4 pm here and already I've done so much today. I went with my art history class to the Academia this morning. We saw Michelangelo's David and the Maplethorpe exhibition that was going on. So today I had a pretty lousy day. I made a stupid mistake on my Italian quiz. I fell down the stairs on my way to drawing. And I am the worst artist in my drawing class. This makes me wonder why I am an art major. I guess it's just because I am in a class with advanced students and other students who have way more experience than I do. I haven't ( Read more... ) -

So today I didn't do much at all. It rained for a big portion of the day. I mopped our kitchen floor, cleaned the bathroom and did laundry. I also studied for my Italian quiz tomorrow and did my Italian homework. I went to the secret bakery this morning at like 2. I got chocolate filled croissants and a personal pizza. I have got to come up with better titles than Italy #whatever. Anyway, today I went on a field trip with my High Renaissance art history class. We went all over the place. So last night I went out with some friends and had a blast. Bad idea to go out on Thursday night when you have painting conservation on Friday for four hours though. Anywayyyyyy, made the most amazing breakfast for lunch ever today. Two egg on bread, and a sausage. So yummy. Went grocery shopping with Sofia earlier and bought a bunch of food. I ( Read more... )
