I think this idea has legs. Think of how much newspapers could save on what they pay their columnists.

And you shouldn't really confine it to right-wing ideology. Tweak the variables slightly, and you've got an instant leftie-bot. After all, the incoherent thought, and willingness to ignore the reality that conflicts with ideology, is precisely the same.

In fact, thinking about it, I wonder of the Guardian has already done this with Polly Toynbee.
