I've thought of getting lasik, but the idea of shaving off part of my eyeball makes me cringe. Was it worth the "stress" though?

You'll look adorable in glasses. And if glasses make Chaiya look even more adorable, then you'll even more adoringly. heh.

Fantastic! They look great on you, and I'm glad you're happy with the effect. I agree that even a light prescription can make the world more enjoyable to observe, and encourage you to look around more. (And you have such delightful things to observe in your life! ;)

Reminds me of my amazement as a child when I got my first pair of glasses. "Wow, I can see INDIVIDUAL LEAVES!"

Do you know if you're a candidate for additional LASIK? Though given your age, even if you are, you might hold off - people in their 30s often have a vision improvement, at least according to my eye doctor.

i don't know, off the top of my head; i can certainly find out. i'd have to think very carefully before going through the procedure again (unless it's changed significantly over the past decade, which is certainly possible); at the time, the improvement was worth the stress, but given that now i can get by without my glasses except when i need fine detail or distance vision, the tradeoff is not so attractive.

I gotta say, I've done some thinking about LASIK, myself. But I kinda like my glasses, and I can always get contacts again. So I'm debating. Right now, we're putting spare cash into the house, anyway.

I missed the 30s and went on to the 40s - but I did get an improvement in one eye as of this last ophthalmologist visit, last month.
