last week i stopped by the Eye Care Center (adjacent to the Somerville Hospital) for an eye exam. i had been noticing that when driving around with chaiya, she generally seemed to be able to read street signs sooner that i could; couple this with my officemates observing that they can tell i'm working hard when i'm leaning increasingly closer to my ( Read more... )

Much (belated) sympathy! My RX for glasses is ~10 in one eye and ~12 in the other, with a healthy helping of astigmatism in both eyes. Being blind is no fun.

Hm. Thoughts re: lasik, pls? I've been half-heartedly considering it-- my vision is just bad enough that I might really benefit: -4.75 in each eye.

i'll write up a more detailed LASIK post shortly. you should still ask me to tell you the entire story when i next see you, though; it loses something without the full complement of facial expressions, accents, sound effects, and pantomime.

That's the downfall for LJ for certain people. Most of your stories are missing the facial expressions, accents, sound effects, and pantomime. Picturing it in one's head isn't quite the same!

I really like frameless glasses since they tend to disappear to my internal perception. I'd like to get them again, but with the twins, that's a *bad* idea.

Yes, she is, and you would be well off not to forget that.
