Splarg (no ductape this time - just splarg)

Argh, great night last night and an okay day....but there have been ups...and god damn downs.

Ups:

Yesterday, I bought Dave the latest Gorillaz album and had dinner ready for him when he got back from work. He was delighted with both.

Played WoW last night and had good fun blabbing away to Mike and helping Dave's level 20 rogue with quests in Loch ( Read more... )

I slept really well without being cold at all. I'm frozen in bed without Dave. I guess I got to used to snuggling up with him.

Awwwww. :)

Ugh, that sounds like crap with WoW. I hate when things can't just do what you tell them to do.

you smug assholes

I thought you had a broadband connection? (A proper one would require leaving Ireland.)
As for hardware, if quessir can give me a list of what else is needed for the PC, I'll see what's possible. I had thought the spec was just about enough for WoW, but perhaps not.

Is this for real?

The technology is certainly available, though I'm not sure what the point is when compared to, say, a 30" touch-screen. Unless those plates have more embedded in them than just the controls (visible in the video).

Ugh, don't mind the smug assholes bit. For the most part, people are understanding about me not having cash. But there are a few people who insist on laughing at me about it and rubbing it in.

My broadband connection goes down everytime the phone rings. So it's like dial-up really - just faster and cheaper.

I suppose you can have each tile for a specific task. From what I saw, some store data while others serve as controls to look and use data. Or I could be very wrong...

The video doesn't really tell you how the technology works or how the data is stored and accessed. We can only guess from what we can see. I don't like the idea of using things that could be as fragile as Hollerith cards though...

Would be totally mostly pointless if they can't be reconfigured for any task necessary. A palmtop would be more felxible.

They look cool, but damn breakable. Like PSPs.

But - laptops in your pocket. Thats.... a pretty cool thought.

That is what so-termed Pocket PCs are for. And they bounce reasonably well in limited my experience ^^

Pocket PCs....a friend of mine has one of those. They look useful, but... I'm not sure if I'd ever actually use one at all.

Not sure how you managed to post that here - you and naru have the worst placement for comments I've ever seen ^^;

I didn't think I would either and was never tempted to buy one, but must admit that I'm finding youbou has its uses.
