I find it almost hard to believe that it's been a bit over a month since I arrived here. Though I suppose the illusion is certainly aided by the two weeks I spent at the incorrect age. Regardless, I believe I finally have myself more properly settled now ( Read more... )

Y-You already have money?

(Why does this sinking feeling in my gut feel so... familiar?)

Yes. Quite a bit of it. Apparently the bank keeps the account even when one disappears from the island.

But... But I was here before, and I don't have any money.

Perhaps you managed to spend it all before your prior disappearance.

You're working at the courthouse as well, milord? I just took a job there as a page. I look forward to working with you!

I suppose we'll be seeing a lot of each other then, ma'am. My name is Miles Edgeworth. It's a pleasure to meet you.

The pleasure is all mine, Lord Miles. I am Louise.

You know Wright as well, then? Interesting.

...Yes, we do seem to have been previously acquainted.

I almost have to wonder what other legal sorts are on this island. Yourself, Phoenix, Miss von Karma.

Surprising that you had so much money at the bank, though. I don't believe I've heard of such a happening before. Fortune favors you.

It seems like it would be a waste if the only people on this island in my profession were ones I was already acquainted with.

Luck had nothing to do with it. I merely had the foresight to save up during my previous stay here.

You can live somewhere on your own here?

The Memoria apartments are available at a price, though I don't know if they have an age limit.

fearcutsdeeper June 22 2009, 23:32:41 UTC
Oh, they cost money.

Ah, yes, I suppose I should have mentioned that. You are not the sort to spend money frivolously, and you were working as the Mayor's assistant, so it's only natural that you returned to some money since the banking system here accounts for reappearances.

You may wish to ask Mr. Vash if he has any of your prior belongings as well.

It's a somewhat odd system of doing it, but I suppose it is money I earned, regardless of whether or not I remember earning it. I'll have to remember to ask Vash about any possessions I may have left behind.

I think it's a foolish system. There must be a great deal of monetary funds tied up in it.

And yet as far as I can tell there never seems to be any lack of pay or any inflation. The economy here is bewildering at best.
