Even though I didn't get into the dealer's den this year, I still had a great time. I didn't make as much money as I usually do , of course, but I got to play a lot of games I would have missed. Usually Dragonstorm is run with only people of similar power levels, to avoid that particular situation where low-level people get overwhelmed or marginalized.

There were a few people playing high-level characters at the one table that ran Dragonstorm this year, and all but one of us believe in the philosophy of holding back, so the low-point people can have their share of the fun. There was one person though who was kind of going overboard, and being something of a twink. That makes it kind of unfun for everyone.

Hopefully you'll get to play other games at AC, and maybe come up to FCN to play, too. A couple gaming cons feature Dragonstorm as well, namely Origins and PentaCon. They have multiple tables, and they generally don't mix high and low (though they do from time to time, but I've seen it work well for the most part).

Yeah, I do believe it's the case of one bad apple this time. You and I both know who it was, and we discussed this at the con. If I thought otherwise, I wouldn't be intending on continuing to play. :)
