I love it when you're packing to go out to BRC and you get a this great idea for something and you totally feel the need to pull it off.

Like a new costume that will only take hours  of sewing.  Or some fancy electrical or mechanical gadget.   Something that a sane person would work on over the course of weeks, or maybe all summer as a side project ( Read more... )

So last year when i went to use my van after a few months, the battery was dead.  I could sometimes jump it but the charge wasn't holding.  I went to trade the battery in to the place i  had held as my new favorite local auto store.   admittedly i got a kid i rarely dealt with, but he started blathering on about what it would take to test the ( Read more... )

So i got my new t-mobile bill.  ( My work stopped paying for my cell phone and i switched the account back over to me.  )

I scan the bill and notice that i was charged for text messages.  I was worried about going over now that i paid for it, and for awhile i was using the lousy  AIM client that uses SMS

But i wasnt expecting to go over by $38.

 it's funny, as someone who has pretty much used up all my vacation days every year, i'm a touch excited to be able to use the furlough days to help let me accrue some saved away again

the pay cut part sucks, but i'll actually theoretically get paid for them eventually

some email goes out yesterday afternoon with a bunch of, imo, bad info

i correct some of it, but my boss and i are IMing back and forth about it and he sends me a copy of a proposed email and asks if it's argumentative
