Okay, I simply cannot believe this is happening, but there's been some issues about the fact that I chose to make McCoy from Kentucky as opposed to Georgia over at Fandom Secrets. I'm not super active in any one fandom. Hell, I just wrote this series on a whim, but apparently it's inspired not only fans, but haters as well.
Apparently, Georgia, and

Oh, and edit!
That is NOT what goes on in nuTrek fandom. That is the bullshit that goes on in Fandom!Secrets, den of trolls and wankers, home to harmonians and zutarans and more batshit than you can shake a joker-colored stick at. NuTrek is about LOVE, but the internet is full of jackasses and occasionally we all have to intermingle. It is most regrettable.

Also, might I just point out that, if your fic has made enough impact that someone wrote a Fandom Secrets post about it, you've definitely made an impact. Reads like someone being jealous to me.

This kind of pathetic bully (too cowardly to come forward with their own name, by the way)
is only defeated one way; by carrying on doing exactly what you were doing before.
I can understand if you were hurt by some of the language used by these people, and an instinctive reaction would be to stop
whatever you were doing. i know that my first reaction would be like yours.
But if you do that, the cretins win.
Is this a world where cretins should win?
You're the writer, you say where the characters come from. End of story. It didn't seem to bother any of the legion of fans you seem to have, so let the cretin try to create wank.
The cogniscenti will be over here, enjoying your writing.

Let the legions of people who love your fic drown out the one idiot who didn't even have the decency to point out a small canon nitpick in person!

Please keep writing and posting it; one moron does not a fandom make.

But seriously, you're amazing, your writing is amazing. If you need me to beat up the people nitpicking? I shall.

Maybe it's because I'm not really active with Star Trek fic (which would be another veiled compliment to you that you were able to make me succomb to the delicious darkness), but I honestly don't really give a damn (pardon the swearing) where McCoy is from. I care about his characterization, about reading from an author who makes him someone I'm interested in, invested in, and you've done just that. So I can understand that getting the blasts sucks, because, unfortunately, one negative thing seems to be the equivalent of about fifteen positive comments, but I know that personally, I would love to see you continue the series.
Much love and support.

I rarely read fanfiction and i have to say that i loved Rough-and-Tumble. And i found it through an earlier fandom secret no less.
