I used the semagic client to f-lock all my old posts, although I should warn you that while I had no problems, someone else I know lost a handfull of entries along the way. Of course, I now don;t remember *where* in semagic I did that ... so that's not that helpfull at all.

Personally, I'd love for you to stay, but that has to be your choice. Also beig around to comment and read and continue relationships doesn't oblige you to post, or to share old posts.

Also also, if you do decide you want to lock down to whatever degree, one of my friends recently did this.

Backed up all old entries using http://www.ljbook.com/, http://www.livejournal.com/export.bml, and http://www.livejournal.com/developer/exporting.bml

and then used semagic to delete all the old entries

I keep meaning to do the backing up part myself at some point - now you can include comments there seems to be a point.
