News, the headline kind of international politics stuff.

Still behind with stuff I wanted to catch up with before posting something new, but so it goes.

The news story that freezes my blood this morning:
plans to suspend the US elections, intent to change laws to do it.

And I'm not surprised at all, but it still freezes my blood that it's happening.

*I'm* surprised (sort of) and have spent the last few minutes looking for the CNN addy to email--they're taking comments on same. And looking for anywhere else that's taking comments too. And seeing where I can go from there.

Those of us who live and vote in the US had better scream the house down at the mere suggestion. Now would be a good time.

Honestly, the way things have been going (and have been *exactly* mirroring the situation in Germany before the second world war down to the names of things like the Homeland Security Office, and now the timing of this very thing) I'm not surprised at all. And since the last election was very dodgy, I would have been *very* surprised if, with the winners in power, it would have been handled more scrupulous this time.

Good luck screaming the house down. May it work.

I know what you mean. I can barely stand to look at the news or the political bits on my flist anymore. It's not exactly grown-up of me, but I want to pull the blankets up around my ears and make Bush and all his little minions go the fuck away. So. Damn. Scary.

So. Blanket time. I found a JC-in-a-dress story on my friendsfriendslist. And for some reason, thought of you...
