 In watching "Never Say Never Again" on DVD I was struck by a few things.

A) Sean Connery looks like Ricardo Montalban for a good deal of this movie. Not generally a bad thing, but you can tell that he came out of retirement for this production.

B) This is the worst transfer to DVD I've ever seen from a major studio. Tons of film artifacts that weren ( Read more... )

I haven't seen it all the way since it came out in... 1983, if memory serves. The original (Thunderball) in much better.

A) OMG, you're right! I never considered that before. Difference was, Richardo's hair was real. It shocked me to no end to learn that Connery was wearing a piece even in the first film.

B) This is saying a lot.

C) I remember that! Sort of a cross between Risk and a Love Tester. Hey Bond! You're a "red hot lover" for... Albania!

I likewise hadn't seen it since I saw it in the theater as a kid either.

Yeah, Sean's toupee is dreadful in this one. Not quite Donald Trump, but not far off.

Like a lot of films, it didn't age particularly well. That which was Neato Keen when I was twelve is not quite so much these days. Heck, even rewatching Goldfinger, I was struck by how dated it was.

Then again, I think you are the guy who inflicted Ator The Fighting Eagle on me, so I think you'd be getting off easy with a cheezy Bond film :)
