What kind of activity level are participants required to maintain?

I am going to suggest medium. To make it less abstract, I think if someone is interested in the community they will be able to find a couple of activities every month which they want to do and they will pop up once in a while to join small talk in their CR or Main Hall. I do not have secret spies that will stalk you around and check how much you are doing, but as a rule in any community whenever someone goes missing, eventually their friends will notice and start wondering. There are also things like surveys at the end of each term which say 'click this box if you want to stay in the community for the next term.' Obviously, if someone hadn't been around for two months they will miss it and get removed ( ... )

When will we be able to drop apps for Sorting and reSorting?

Sometimes next week. Hopefully by then I will figure out how to run the queue.

I know, I'm such an omniscient Headmistress. >.>

I thought of this after I had sorted two apps, but I'm in the middle of filling out a sorting app. I want to go through the same trials as everyone else to make sure I really belong here and I'm not riding the coattails of an old comm.

ANYWAY. I identify as Puff, generally, and I'm a member of the Puff CR at HH. I've been putting Hufflepuff as my house in sorting votes. Will this matter if I fill out my own app and am sorted somewhere else? Or am I worrying about nothing?

Thank you for listening to me ramble.

If Hogwarts_Elite member gets sorted into a different house, they have a choice whether to stay in their current CR or to join the new one where they have been sorted.

However, I will not be going back through every contest to re-assign the past credit to your new house. You are currently in the badger CR, participating in these contests as a Hufflepuff, so you are earning points for them. If you become a part of a different house then you will start earning points for that house, but currently you are not a lion or a snake or an eagle. This is why I ran a first sorting period so early, to give a quick chance to people who want to be in a different CR to switch it if they feel restricted from entering contests because they will be earning points for a house they do not feel connected to.

Is there an option/procedure for hiatus from the community?

Hello there!

I'm a member of H_E and I just applied here. My question is, if I get sorted into a different house from that I was sorted in at H_E, can I choose my H_E house still?

Thank you! :)

Yes. That option is available to H_E members. You are also allowed to join the community while you are waiting for your application to drop, your contest points will be added to the house you have had at H_E.

Thank you, that sounds great. I just joined the comm. But joining my old common room is not allowed yet, right? Do I have to wait until the sorting process is done and then make a choice?

The idea with H_H was to give H_E members a place where they can re-assemble, so to speak. Since they already went through sorting at H_E and know their house, the sorting is primarily done a) if they felt they changed and wanted to see where they would be sorted b) scribbling apps and sorting is fun.

You can join your CR and other sub-communities and start taking part in the activities right now. With sorting you will get a more formal introduction like the survey, but feel free to start your own topic or even a chat room to greet your fellow snakes. It's mostly about your preference. Some students waited for the sorting and stayed out of their CR, others joined it and don't plan to write an app at all. This only applies to H_E students however. Everyone else goes through a standard sorting procedure.
